- ➤ Appleton’s Community Living Room in downtown Appleton offers a free space where trained staff deliver emotional CPR to help people feel less isolated and support those in distress. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials identified twin sisters Haley and Kayla Fritsch—26-year-old daycare teachers—as the victims of a house fire in Howard that destroyed a home and killed multiple pets, and Brown County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the cause of death. WOSH-AM
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A dispute between a nine-year-old and an 11-year-old on a school bus in Grand Chute at 3:30 p.m. Thursday ended when a fire extinguisher was discharged—forcing students to evacuate the bus while first responders examined them and found no serious injuries. FOX 11
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers open their Christmas light display at Fox Cities Stadium featuring 1.1 million lights — the display includes a 30-foot tree and offers fans train rides, letter-to-Santa stations, s'mores, and more as part of a new five-year agreement. FOX 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State report cards show that local school districts in Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac are exceeding expectations—De Pere School District earned the highest rating while Woodland Intermediate in Kimberly reached 98.5 percent and Columbus Elementary in Appleton did not meet expectations. - ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction released report cards for the 2024-25 school year that showed only nine of 25 voucher schools in the Fox Cities received accountability scores because many schools had too few students taking the test for published data. - ➤ Drivers going south on I-41 regain easier access with the off-ramp to State 15/Northland Avenue reopening today in Grand Chute—part of a multi-year project to expand 23 miles of the highway.
