- ➤ A list of trick or treat hours for Northeast Wisconsin communities was released, with events taking place today in Bear Creek, Campbellsport, Eden, Fond du Lac, Kewauskum, Manawa, North Fond du Lac, St. Cloud, Sherwood and Suring, on Sunday in Berlin, Casco and other towns, and later on Friday and Saturday — Appleton will host trick or treat from 4–8 p.m. on Friday. - ➤ Fork Yeah — Fox Valley is hosting a Hunger Task Force Fundraiser in the Area 509 parking lot from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 to help nearly 300 homeless students from the Appleton Area School District. Local food trucks will donate part of their sales and make direct contributions after social media posts called for help. Post-Crescent

- ➤ Appleton International Airport could see nearly $44 million in improvements if Outagamie County's proposed 2026 budget is approved—funds are set for new parking, a corporate hangar and a baggage system. - ➤ Winnebago County replaced lead paint on an Oshkosh home on October 23 as part of its Lead-Safe Homes Program aimed at reducing lead poisoning risks in older residences—county officials worked with families and used local funds while awaiting additional federal support amid the government shutdown. - ➤ Maggie Foust from Oshkosh will compete in the MLB Youth Pitch, Hit & Run Competition in Toronto during this year's World Series after winning local contests in Oshkosh and Milwaukee — she will take the field on Sunday with her dad as chaperone while her family joins to support her. WBAY
- ➤ On October 23rd, officials completed a $2.4 million upgrade at Nouryon Sports Complex in Howard that added artificial turf fields, fencing, bleachers and concrete pads. The improvements will let local clubs, including Wisconsin United FC and the school system, host more tournaments — the fields are expected to extend play from early spring to late fall and boost tourism.
