BUSINESS NEWS

  • A Powerball ticket bought at a Kwik Trip in Little Chute turned a $3 play into a $100,000 win on October 13 when it matched four of five numbers and used the $1 Power Play option—only four tickets nationwide hit the $100,000 mark with the Power Play feature.  WOSH-AM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A $6,000 donation from the Northside Neighbor to Neighbor group lowered the free student lunch debt in Appleton schools from over $82,000 to $70,000 today. The group will keep raising funds & accept donations at the football game Friday night.  FOX 11
  • ThedaCare representatives hosted day one of the annual FOCUS event on Wednesday at Fox Cities Performing Arts Center to teach 15- and 16-year-olds the dangers of unsafe driving. Over 4,600 high school students watched skits and listened to real stories from those affected by car crashes — a program aimed at saving lives.  WOSH-AM

  • Commando Paintball Sports in Little Suamico will launch its Haunted Park event on Oct 17, 18, 24, and 25 where guests can try an interactive Zombie Shoot and ride a zombie bus. Players must wear eye protection as one 15-year-old experienced a paintball hit during play.  FOX 11
