- ➤ Appleton landlord Richard 'Dick' Reetz died on June 11 and left his estate's 20 rental units from 10 properties to Pillars Inc — a donation expected to help house more than 40 residents. Pillars Inc said it will work with current tenants to ensure they are not displaced. FOX 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Appleton Area School District will open the new Sandy Slope Elementary School near Appleton North High School this fall—its first new elementary building in over 30 years—to serve 600 K-5 students with classes beginning on September 2. The $35 million project broke ground in October 2023 and aims to ease overcrowding in district elementary schools. FOX 11
