- ➤ Franklin Elementary School and Trim Hunger opened a community food pantry outside the school on Thursday to provide local residents with food and essential items. - ➤ Rawhide Youth Services is celebrating its 60th anniversary today at 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at E7475 Rawhide Road in New London with live music by The Spicy Tie Band, a classic car show, family activities, campus tours, and a signature —Friday Fish Fry— that will reconnect alumni, former staff, donors, and local supporters. - ➤ On Wednesday night a home on the 3900 block of Agatha Christie Ave in Ledgeview was destroyed by a fire that began before 9 p.m.—firefighters took about 30 minutes to put it out and no one was inside. WBAY
- ➤ Festival Foods in Appleton was evacuated Thursday morning after a fire alarm sounded at the Northland Avenue store - firefighters responded quickly, found no emergency, and confirmed sprinkler system maintenance had triggered the alarm. WOSH-AM

- ➤ After nearly a monthlong trial, Tony Haase of Weyauwega was acquitted on Aug. 11, 2022 for the 1992 double homicide of Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue—leaving family members shocked by the acquittal. Post-Crescent
- ➤ Ondra Toombs, 47, was charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide as domestic abuse after a shooting at the Budget Inn in Grand Chute on August 8th—he was recently released from a Florida prison and now faces additional charges for possessing a firearm while previously convicted and resisting officers.
