CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Tyrese Simmons, an Appleton man accused of firing shots in Erb Park in June 2024, reached a plea deal with prosecutors for second-degree reckless endangerment and being a felon in possession of a firearm—sentencing is set for Oct. 27. WHBY
- ➤ Appleton police are investigating a death after a person was found outside a downtown dentist’s office in the 1000 block of S. Oneida Street when the practice opened Monday morning — no further details have been shared. WHBY
- ➤ Kendall Strobel-Nieft from Kaukauna was convicted on two burglary and two criminal damage counts for damaging houses under construction in the Fox Cities from 2021 to 2024 — six charges were dismissed — and she will be sentenced on Sept. 25 with up to 32 years in prison. WHBY

- ➤ Appleton and Howard-Suamico school leaders are partnering with the Universities of Wisconsin to help seniors explore their direct admission offers — a program that has sent nearly 34,000 offers from 467 schools.
