Neighborhood watch groups in Appleton will host about 20 to 30 National Night Out parties next week to offer food, music, and chances to build trust with local police.

On Saturday night, August 2, a motorcyclist died after crashing into the median barrier wall on I-41 northbound at Holland Road near Little Chute—state authorities are investigating the crash.

Downtown Appleton was filled with thousands last weekend as Mile of Music concluded its 12th year with more than 200 artists performing on multiple stages — Appleton Community Music, Inc. helped fund artist meals, lodging and education programs.

Organizers are aiming to raise $100,000 during the festival and are already planning for Mile 13 next year.
