- ➤ A judge dismissed convicted shooter Dezman Ellis’ attempt to withdraw his plea for the January 2021 fatal shooting at Fox River Mall—Ellis, 22, remains serving a 40-year sentence for second-degree intentional homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety and said he may later hire a new attorney to challenge the ruling.
