  • Event organizers debuted ‘Pints at Plamann’ Tuesday, July 15 in Appleton—held at Plamann Park—which featured food, drinks, live music, games and a showcase of the new disc golf course.  WBAY
  • The new Boys and Girls Club in Neenah opened on Monday, July 14 and will hold its grand opening and open house on July 19 to welcome local youth.  Post-Crescent
  • Outagamie County Parks has launched a new summer event series at Plamann Park called Pints at Plamann — offering families local craft beverages from Stone Arch Brewpub, live music, food trucks, and fun activities at The Hillside. The event will take place on August 19 from 5 to 8 PM — and features local partnerships with Grand Chute Baseball, Pop Warner Football, and Appleton North High School.  We Are Green Bay

CULTURE NEWS

  • Archaeologists from the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association used sonar on the Fox River near Oshkosh this spring to map the Berlin City wreck but discovered a shipwreck believed to be the L.W. Crane that sank in 1880—its hull measures about 90 feet long and 23 feet wide. The vessel, which once ferried passengers and freight, is located opposite the St. Paul Railroad Slip and research continues to confirm its identity.  Post-Crescent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Appleton will rebuild the French Road overpass as part of the I-41 expansion project and add sidewalks and bike lanes to make crossing safer—Public Works Director Laura Jungwirth said the state will fund over $10 million while the city pays roughly $160,000, with work beginning in spring and finishing next fall.  WTAQ
