CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested a 22-year-old man (charged with first-degree reckless injury) in Grand Chute on Monday at about 1 p.m. after a weekend road rage shooting that injured a caller's hand and damaged his vehicle by gunfire (officers executed a search warrant on N. Milkweed Trail after a 911 call at 4:30 p.m. Sunday). WTAQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Appleton will upgrade the French Road overpass with a wide sidewalk and bike lanes as part of the I-41 expansion project. The state will fund over $10 million while the city pays a little more than $160,000, and construction will begin in spring and finish next fall. FOX 11
- ➤ Northeast Wisconsin lawmakers introduced legislation Monday at the Butterfly Garden of Wisconsin near Appleton to designate the endangered Monarch butterfly as the state butterfly. Representative Paul Tittl and Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara support the proposal along with seventeen legislators—hoping the move boosts awareness and protection of habitats threatened by loss, climate change and pesticide use.
