Layne's Chicken Fingers, a Texas-based chain, will open a new Appleton restaurant on July 19 at 3600 W College Ave run by local brothers Josh and Luke Bergeson — the first 50 dine-in customers will receive a year of free chicken fingers.

Fox Crossing police said several reports were made Thursday morning of someone trying to open unsecured car doors in the Mill Pond, Agnes, Oxwood, and Willow Hill neighborhoods—reminding residents to lock vehicles and secure their valuables.

Heidi Schneider, a local runner, restarted training after a 15-year break and will run in the Community First Fox Cities Marathon on September 19 across routes in Appleton, Neenah and Menasha.

She built her strength with discipline and family support—Marathon Director Julie Johnson noted her progress—while registrations remain open until prices increase on August 1.
