  • Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Raquel Durden, who served in many countries and later faced a service-related cancer, wrote a book titled Dial Down that offers simple ways to handle stress and mental health—drawing from her own journey. She will host a public book launch on September 10 at Woodland Dunes in Two Rivers.  WOSH-AM

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today marks the 15th anniversary of Wisconsin’s smoke-free indoor air law, credited with lowering smoking rates and reducing secondhand smoke for people across the state. Paula Tran (State Health Officer) noted that smoking fell from 19% to 12% among adults and from 17% to 3% among high school students (DHS data).  WBAY
