- ➤ Actor Jeremy Renner will serve as guest of honor at the 40th annual U.S. Venture Open charity golf event on August 13 — the nation’s largest one-day event to raise funds to end poverty — and he will join a dinner interview at Van Abel’s of Hollandtown. The tournament will be held at several Northeast Wisconsin golf courses and will support at-risk youth through his RennerVation Foundation. NBC 26
- ➤ St. Paul Elder Services hosted a community brat fry on Wednesday at the Kaukauna campus on East 14th Street to support The Longest Day and Alzheimer's Brain Awareness Month, with proceeds from burgers, brats and hot dogs going to the cause. - ➤ On June 24, the Assembly passed a bipartisan bill to remove the $48,000 income cap for services that support families caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease — the measure aims to help more households access needed care.
