  • On Saturday, June 21, Silver-Shea Holsteins in Omro hosted Grilled Cheese Day as part of Dairy Month, where residents paid $5 for meals made with cheese from Union Star — Dan Hinz of the Winnebago County Dairy Promotion Committee said the event helped reconnect people with local farms.  FOX 11

CULTURE NEWS

  • Fox Valley Pride Fest took place Saturday, June 21 at Jones Park in downtown Appleton — the event featured live music, food vendors and its first-ever promenade. Organizer Dana Johnson welcomed attendees as the celebration highlighted local pride.  Post-Crescent
  • Appleton hosted free events for Make Music Day on Saturday morning, offering more than ten community activities and a special performance from ten piano players. DeDe Heid from Heid Music said music supports health and learning for all ages—benefiting mental well-being and academic focus.  FOX 11

  • A Senate bill will raise the federal minimum wage to $15 next year — with planned increases for inflation — and MIT’s Living Wage Calculator shows that for many workers in Wisconsin, that wage will not cover basic expenses, especially for single adults and families, while dual-income households without children may require less.  WOSH-AM

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Weber family in De Pere, who face a rare hereditary form of ALS, continues its fight against the disease through its foundation NextGenALS and held a fundraiser at Mid Vallee Golf Course on Saturday—raising funds for research aimed at developing future therapies. The family is determined to support efforts that may slow or stop the illness, which has already impacted multiple family members.  WOSH-AM
