CRIME NEWS

  • An appeals court on Wednesday upheld Andrew Clark’s conviction for the October 21st, 2020 double murder of his wife, Melissa Clark, and witness Lavar Wallace at an Omro home while rejecting all of his arguments, and he is now serving back-to-back life sentences (at the Wisconsin Secure Program Facility in Boscobel).  FOX 11

CULTURE NEWS

  • Appleton will host the Fox Valley Pride Fest on June 21 at Jones Park from 1 to 8 p.m., featuring live drag performances from 6 to 8 p.m., a cornhole tournament beginning at 3 p.m., food trucks, vendors and live music. A Pride Promenade will start at 11:15 a.m. from the History Museum and end at Houdini Plaza—participants must follow local ordinance rules and safety measures.  Post-Crescent

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On June 18, 2025, 24 youth apprentices celebrated their next career steps at Miron Construction in Neenah as they moved from school programs into registered and full-time positions—one high school graduate began a registered apprenticeship immediately after graduation. Miron Construction officials explained that these hands-on roles start at 66% of journeyman pay with full benefits on day one, strengthening the local blue-collar workforce.  FOX 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Appleton Common Council voted Wednesday to rename Appleton Memorial Park on Witzke Drive to Veterans Memorial Park to honor all military veterans. The change will replace the current Veterans Park on S. Memorial Drive near the Fox River—which lacks proper facilities for veterans events.  WHBY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Grace Schara’s family said they are disappointed after an Outagamie County jury cleared Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital in a lawsuit claiming that during the COVID pandemic, Grace was given a mix of drugs too strong and a do-not-resuscitate order was placed against her family’s wishes—and they plan to hold a news conference soon to discuss the verdict.  WHBY
