- ➤ Appleton hosts the nation’s oldest Flag Day parade today, marking its 74th year since 1950 with a route starting at Wisconsin Ave. and N. Oneida St. and expected to draw over 50,000 spectators. Police remind drivers that roads near Erb Park will close at noon for parade staging — Wisconsin Ave. will shut at 1:10 p.m. and State St. at 1:30 p.m. WBAY

- ➤ Appleton’s Octoberfest will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27 at Houdini Plaza with a ceremonial toast and a polka performance by Copper Box. - ➤ The Wisconsin Elections Commission mailed postcards on June 13th to voters who did not vote in four years, and voters must respond by July 15 by updating their information online or returning the postcard (if their details are current) to keep their registration active. Post-Crescent
