- ➤ The Thompson Center on Lourdes gave away all its furniture, including pool tables, pianos, couches & chairs, on May 28 as it cleared its old facility at Saint Bernadette’s Parish in preparation for moving to a new center on College Avenue known as the Mary Beth Nienhaus Activity Center. The new facility will have a soft opening on June 2 followed by a full launch the next week. WTAQ
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Outagamie County had the seventh-highest number of deer-related crashes in 2024 with 666 incidents (a 52-case increase from 2023), while more than 17,000 deer crashes statewide resulted in nine deaths and 708 injuries. WisDOT urged drivers to slow down and use headlights at key times and to call 911 if someone is hurt. Post-Crescent

- ➤ Appleton police report that Donovan Xiong is missing after he was last seen at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of N. Bay Ridge Road (wearing a green T-shirt, jeans, black shoes and possibly a jacket and not driving); anyone with information should call police at 920-832-5500. WHBY
- ➤ Appleton police are investigating a vehicular incident that left teen Jacob Hackl of Xavier High School dead after he sustained life-threatening injuries near a north-side residence at around 1 a.m.—officials say it remains unclear if anyone will face charges. WTAQ
