  • Yesterday at Fleet Farm, Taps Across America was observed when Jill Quigley played Taps to honor veterans on Memorial Day — local veterans like Richard Forrest attended to remember fallen heroes.  WOSH-AM

  • Today, 94 veterans left Appleton on an honor flight to Washington, D.C. funded by late Navy veteran Jerry Jochman—whose will left over $100,000 so they could experience a memorable journey.  FOX 11

  • Police in Neenah warned residents to lock their vehicles after nine thefts occurred early this morning on the east side, with video footage showing suspects attempting to open car doors on Oak Street from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.—call Officer Burrows at 920-886-6000 if you have information.  We Are Green Bay

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Monday morning, hundreds gathered in New London at Taft Park for a Memorial Day service that re-dedicated the local Vietnam memorial with a new stone listing 12 fallen soldiers. Appleton resident Jack Voight—who dedicated the state's only permanent Vietnam War memorial last month—joined the event as Gold Star family member Linda Lamkins remembered her uncle, who died during the Tet Offensive.  FOX 11
  • On Memorial Day Monday, Fleet Farm in Appleton took part in Taps Across America when a local musician played 'Taps' to honor fallen veterans and community members joined as veterans, a color guard, and partners from Taps for Veterans organized the service—creating a shared moment of remembrance.  We Are Green Bay

  • Hunters who want a chance to join the 2025 fall elk hunting season must apply by May 31 using online forms or a license agent as required by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources—selected hunters must complete an elk education course and will be notified in June.  We Are Green Bay
  • Yesterday, Appleton held a Memorial Day parade and service on College Avenue to honor fallen veterans. Mayor Jake Woodford attended the ceremony—featuring banners with the names of local servicemen and a rifle salute with Taps.  WBAY
