- ➤ Andres Escobar-Rodriguez was sentenced to one year in jail for his role in the $38,000 ATM theft from a Kaukauna credit union on July 5, 2024—and he must also pay restitution as security videos showed the suspects made 48 trips to the ATM using a master key—police said. WTAQ

- ➤ The Appleton Area School District paused efforts to reinstate a truancy ordinance to allow more time for consultations with parents and city officials. Superintendent Greg Hartjes said the district would not return to a truancy court option (a measure now on hold indefinitely). WHBY

- ➤ Outagamie County's finance committee discussed reallocating $3.2 million originally set for UW-Oshkosh Fox Cities funds to purchase a new ERP Human Capital Management System — a change aimed at combining the county's financial, payroll, receipting, and budgeting systems. County Executive Tom Nelson said the funds covered part of a project estimated to cost $3-5 million while additional capital funds came from sales taxes so there was no direct burden to taxpayers.
