- ➤ Jeffrey Proski was sentenced to 25 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision for attacking a Seymour home—he had been convicted of mayhem, aggravated battery, strangulation and false imprisonment in a March 6 incident and apologized for the harm he caused the victim and family. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Barlow Planetarium in Menasha unveiled Wisconsin's largest portable planetarium—a mobile dome that stands 15 feet high and 25 feet wide and seats 40 people. The $70,000 project, funded largely by a $58,000 grant, will visit schools and local events across Northeast Wisconsin and into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. WTAQ

- ➤ The Appleton Common Council will review a proposal today at City Hall at 7 p.m.—the plan would ban possession and consumption of fermented malt beverages and wine within 20 feet of park playgrounds and pavilions except at rented venues and special events. Parks, Recreation and Facilities Director Dean Gazza proposed the ordinance to reduce litter and hazards—and he did not include his idea to remove the park drinking permit requirement. WBAY
- ➤ Grand Chute installed temporary stop signs at Casaloma and Capitol Drive starting Monday—orange flags mark the signs, which will be removed once the detour on south Highway 15 and Northland Ave ends. WBAY
