Good morning, Appleton.

Veterans, families and community members gathered at the Isle of Valor in Menasha to honor armed forces on Armed Forces Day by raising flags for each branch—VFW Post 2126 and local officials said the event showed strong local support for those who served.

The gathering reflected the community’s long-standing tradition of recognizing the sacrifices made by service members.

On Saturday, Appleton Airport held a Wings for Autism event to help families with autistic children learn how to get boarding passes, pass through security, and board a plane—this program has run since 2016 and gave airport staffs and TSA professionals a chance to improve their services.
