- ➤ Nearly six years after Appleton firefighter Mitch Lundgaard was killed, his family honored his memory by donating 25 bleeding control kit cabinets to the Appleton Area School District—each cabinet holds a bag with six kits to help stop life-threatening blood loss until help arrives. WTAQ
- ➤ Appleton Downtown Inc. will host the free Light the Night Market on May 16 from 5 to 10 p.m. on College Avenue between Superior and Durkee; the Renaissance-themed event will feature free live music + food vendors + craft stalls for visitors to enjoy. Post-Crescent

- ➤ Appleton Area School District is reviewing the idea of issuing truancy tickets as city officials voted to delay fines — the district has not used fines in six years despite a rise in student absences.
