- ➤ Fox Cities In Pictures: A Weekly Gallery shows images from local events in the Fox Cities region from May 5 to May 10—photos capture school sports in Menasha and Kimberly, a prom in downtown Appleton, and a closing event at the Trout Museum of Art before its new location opens Oct. 11. - ➤ Appleton Downtown, Inc. will host the free Light the Night Market on College Avenue on May 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.—attendees can enjoy local food, vendors, live performances, and a pirate ship ride costing $2 per ride. WBAY
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Gmeiner Road early Saturday morning — police have not released his condition and are investigating the cause while asking any witnesses to come forward. WHBY
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Cameron Mueller, a 23-year-old former student teacher from Fox Crossing, was charged with a felony after he exchanged messages and a shirtless photo with an 18-year-old student at Menasha High School; he went to court on May 9 (posting a $5,000 bond) and is set to return on May 22. - ➤ WisDOT warns commuters that summer road closures from the I-41 project will lead to heavy traffic at key exits including the northbound State 441 exit at Outagamie County—where a May 9 multi-vehicle crash occurred without injuries—and the southbound I-41 exit for State 47 in Appleton.
