- ➤ Woodward Community Media stations won 36 awards at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Gala held last weekend in Madison. WAPL FM led winners with top honors for its station event promos and digital coverage (including best website) that underscore a strong local broadcast impact. WHBY
- ➤ The History Museum at the Castle is featuring a Houdini exhibit with items used by the famed illusionist in his early years — a display that aligns with the nation’s 250th celebration and 100th anniversary of his death. WHBY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fremont STEM Academy is adding yurts as extra classroom space to help students learn with fewer distractions. The tuition-free public charter school in the Weyauwega-Fremont School District is hosting an open house on Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (see details inside). WBAY
- ➤ Crews have begun preparing the site for the new Kaukauna Middle School near State 55 by clearing soil for a roundabout and two access roads — efforts that support a groundbreaking scheduled for June 8 at 6 p.m., with construction beginning in July and a fall 2028 opening planned. Post-Crescent
