CRIME NEWS

  • A 27-year-old man on probation for a 2015 Appleton trail attack was arrested last week in Kimberly for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on April 16th around 8 p.m.—security and traffic cameras identified the suspect—and Fox Valley Metro Police are recommending fourth degree sexual assault, stalking and disorderly conduct charges.  WTAQ
  • Collin Killoren, a teacher at St. Ignatius Catholic School and Chesterton Academy in Kaukauna, was arrested Wednesday after police confiscated his personal devices during an investigation—school officials said no students were involved and that he has been placed on administrative leave.  WTAQ
  • On April 16, Kimberly police responded around 8 p.m. to the intersection of E. Maes Avenue and Pine Street after a woman said a man sexually assaulted her on a walk, and they identified 27-year-old Milan Stewart—who is on probation for a 2015 Appleton trail attack—as the suspect now held in Manitowoc County Jail with recommendations for fourth degree sexual assault, stalking and disorderly conduct charges.  FOX 11
  • A teacher at St. Ignatius Catholic School and Chesterton Academy was arrested by Appleton Police in connection with an ongoing investigation—his personal devices were confiscated and he is on administrative leave, with no students involved.  WBAY

  • Appleton’s Property, Airport, Recreation & Economic Development Committee approved a plan to move the Weis Earth Science Museum to the History Museum at the Castle pending an Outagamie County vote on May 13—county officials said the shift will move the museum from its 5,000-square-foot Menasha location to a 3,000-square-foot display area in Appleton once legal agreements with UW are in place.  WTAQ

  • After months of board conflict, Wrightstown voters held a recall election on April 1 that removed School Board President Angela Hansen-Winker and elected challenger Nicole Verbeten with 69% of the vote as one precinct’s results remain pending. Verbeten will serve the remainder of the term through 2026 while the board later selects its officers.  Post-Crescent
