Good morning, Appleton.

The Appleton Area School District board will explain plans to fill postponed positions and create new opportunities after voters approved an extra $60 million in funding; the meeting is held today at 6 p.m. at the Scullen Leadership Center in downtown Appleton.

Appleton West theater teacher Rebecca Whittle discussed her approach to mixing theater, English, and history during Hallway Voices today (she balances teaching with her doctoral studies while relying on community grants to support art supplies).

The Appleton Area School Board is reviewing updates to its attendance policy to clarify how absences and truancy are handled.

If approved on April 27, the changes will require a letter after three unexcused or seven excused absences before legal action, with truancy referrals remaining rare.
