- ➤ At Friday's preliminary hearing in Appleton, Eric Abresch—charged with first-degree reckless homicide for allegedly supplying drugs that led to an August 2022 fatal overdose—said he needs an attorney soon due to a shortage of defense lawyers as his case is set to resume on April 3. WTAQ

- ➤ Crews removed 90 dead mallards from a storm pond in Little Chute in late February. The Wisconsin DNR announced on Friday that tests of samples from six birds were negative for HPAI and pointed to a likely fungal infection—officials will continue to monitor the site for more dead birds. WBAY

- ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has released its tentative list of 2025 highway projects for Northeast Wisconsin, including an I-41 expansion between Appleton and De Pere and WIS 57 safety improvements in Door County—construction dates depend on funding and weather.
