  • A new poll by Munley Law finds that Appleton's I-41 corridor is the most stressful commute in Wisconsin, with drivers noting daily slowdowns and busy interchanges (especially near Packers home games) that add tension on this key route connecting Oshkosh to Green Bay.  NBC 26

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • During this year's sturgeon spearing season, Sunk? Dive and Ice Service removed 30 vehicles, shanties and UTVs from Lake Winnebago, which is typical compared to 70 removals last year due to warm weather; Don Herman warned that stronger ice can lead to overconfidence and tougher recoveries.  WBAY

  • The Post-Crescent received multiple awards in the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation’s Better Newspapers Contest, with front pages + headlines earning second and first place honors respectively.   • Genevieve Heyward advanced to American Idol’s top 20 on Monday when she performed ‘Your Song’ at the piano during the national competition; she has since returned to her parents’ cabin on Washington Island.  WBAY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Appleton Assistant Superintendent Michael Hernandez has been named as the next superintendent for the Green Bay Area Public School District and will succeed retiring Vicki Bayer at the end of June.  WHBY

HEALTH NEWS

  • State data shows that in 2025, 67% of children received their full vaccine series by age 2, down from 69% in 2024, meaning about 1,200 fewer kids were covered. Health officials stress the importance of available free or low-cost vaccines & urge parents to act.  Post-Crescent

  • Bellin Run is marking 50 years with a special Spotify playlist covering hits from each decade + registration is open for the anniversary race on Saturday, June 13.  FOX 11
  • The Green Bay Packers released offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins on Monday, and he played in 96 games over seven seasons while earning two Pro Bowl nods. The team praised his versatility as a leader + thanked him for his contributions since being selected in the 2019 draft.  WBAY
