- ➤ Sturgeon spearing in northeast Wisconsin showcased a family tradition as Branden Ahrens helped pass on the sport to his sons on Lake Poygan. One first-timer landed a 111-pound fish Saturday, and tags remain active until 1 p.m. today amid 175 sturgeon caught Saturday and 75 Sunday. FOX 11

- ➤ A profile of Wisconsin’s 1870 census data shows Appleton (4,518 residents) ranked 14th while Milwaukee led the state with 71,440 residents, according to historical records detailing the urban landscape 150 years ago. WBAY
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, Feb. 15, Wisconsin DNR officials reported 375 sturgeon were harvested from Lake Winnebago, including 14 weighing over 100 lbs and a record 125-lb fish caught by Jamie Wilson — conditions on the east side continue to draw spearers. Spearers on the Upriver Lakes may continue until 1 p.m. today. WOSH-AM
- ➤ Allouez cleared about 10 acres in Green Isle Park and removed dead trees along the East River Trail to reduce hazards from the invasive emerald ash borer + officials said reforestation will begin in spring. FOX 11
