- ➤ Volunteers in Appleton conducted the Point in Time count last night in the Fox Valley to track the homeless population for the annual report and federal planning. The survey (tracking local shelter use) comes as rising housing costs challenge residents. WBAY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Superintendent Greg Hartjes said the new truancy ordinance, in effect trial since November, has seen only one citation despite 23.1% of students missing five or more days. He provided the update to the city council, noting this marks the best semester since before the pandemic. WBAY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A proposal to boost power supply by adding new transmission lines and substations was discussed in public hearings in Brillion on Wednesday. American Transmission Company addressed community questions while state law required an environmental impact study — the Public Service Commission will decide by December. WBAY

- ➤ Planned Parenthood will offer monthly cancer detection procedures at its Appleton Health Care Center to identify and remove abnormal cervical cells & improve access for patients facing cost and insurance challenges, addressing the area's low-cost option shortage. WBAY
